At the prestigious 20th International Symposium on Waste Management, Resource Recovery and Sustainable Landfilling, held at the Forte Village in Santa Margherita di Pula (Cagliari, Italy), Greenopoli once again took center stage on the international scene of environmental education.
Professor Giovanni De Feo, widely known as Mr. Greenopoli, chaired the Session E02 – “Education: Engaging Students in Circular Economy”, entirely dedicated to the crucial role of education in advancing the transition toward circularity and sustainability.
The session gathered professors and researchers from several countries, showcasing innovative educational initiatives designed to engage students and citizens in sustainability and responsible resource management.
During the session, Mr. Greenopoli also presented his scientific contribution:
🟢 “The Greenopoli Method: engaging environmental education for sustainable waste management”,
illustrating the Greenopoli Method as an approach to active and participatory scientific communication that blends knowledge, emotion, and concrete action.
Through its multidisciplinary and communicative approach, Greenopoli demonstrates how environmental education can be engaging, effective, and transformative, especially in promoting responsible behaviors in waste management, recycling, and sustainable lifestyles.
Now 19 years after its creation, Greenopoli continues to grow, inspire, and build bridges between science and society, between schools and research, and between the environment and people.
💬 “Educating for sustainability means igniting curiosity, emotion, and awareness. Only then can we build the future.” – Mr. Greenopoli
